Penn State linebacker to enter transfer portal

Though Penn State is preparing for the Pinstripe Bowl, the roster is already undergoing offseason changes. A handful of notable Nittany Lions opted out of the bowl game to focus on their NFL futures, while a few others have decided to enter the transfer portal. Among the most recent players to announce plans to do so is linebacker Kari Jackson.
Jackson announced on social media he will enter the transfer portal to explore his options. As a redshirt freshman, Jackson has three seasons of eligibility.
Jackson struggled to get on the field during his brief time in Happy Valley as injuries seemed to get in the way. In his two seasons with the Nittany Lions, the former three-star recruit appeared in one game.
The NCAA transfer portal will be open from Jan. 2, 2026 through Jan. 16.
Jackson is the sixth player from Penn State’s roster to declare his intent to enter the transfer portal. Other notable defensive players planning to enter the transfer portal include edge rusher Chaz Coleman and cornerback AJ Harris.
