Kayla S. Williams killed: Woman shot, killed while in South Side alley on Harvard Ave identified by officials, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — Officials have identified woman who died after being shot while walking in an alley Friday on the city’s South Side.
The shooting happened around 5:20 p.m. in the 8000-block of South Harvard Avenue, Chicago police said.

She was identified as Kayla S. Williams, 25 of Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Williams was “walking in the alley when she heard a loud noise and realized she had been shot,” CPD said.
The 25-year-old woman was shot in the head. Williams was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.

No arrests have been made as Chicago police continue to investigate.
