From here on out, the Capitals have little time to rest

The Washington Capitals went into the NHL’s three-day holiday break with what center Dylan Strome called “a bad taste in our mouth” after an ugly loss on home ice to the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
After that 7-3 drubbing — Washington led 3-2 through 40 minutes — the Capitals had just one win in their previous seven games (1-4-2). They return Saturday night to play the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center, a meeting that begins a stretch of 22 games in 41 days for Washington until the NHL pauses for the Milan-Cortina Olympics in early February.
