Philadelphia Police investigate deadly crash in Port Richmond

Investigators report a woman was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A fatal crash early Saturday morning in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman and left two others injured.
Police say the collision happened around 2 a.m. near Aramingo Avenue and Tioga Street.
Investigators report that a pickup truck traveling at an unsafe speed on an ice-covered road lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck a sedan head-on.
The impact forced the sedan across a grass median before it came to rest against the Aldi grocery store.
The driver of the sedan, a 45-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital but later died from her injuries. A 29-year-old female passenger in the sedan was hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
The man driving the pickup truck was also taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Police have not announced any arrests. The crash remains under investigation.
