Peter Crouch names two Chelsea stars in Premier League Team of the Season so far

Chelsea are on a bad run of form, recently losing 2-1 to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

It means that Chelsea have now won just one game from their last six Premier League fixtures, a 2-0 victory over Everton.

All in all, the Blues are not having the best season, failing to build on their Club World Cup success in the summer.

Peter Crouch names Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo in Premier League Team of the Season so far

Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo have easily been two of Chelsea’s best players this term and have caught Peter Crouch’s attention.

The former Liverpool and England striker has included the duo in his Premier League Team of the Season so far for TNT Sports.

Cucurella has played in all of Chelsea’s top-flight games this term, while Caicedo has only missed a few.

Caicedo was an unused sub in the Blues’ 2-0 win against Burnley, earning some well-deserved rest. He then picked up a three-match ban for a bad challenge on Arsenal’s Mikel Merino.

Neto has also shone in the current campaign, but the winger has not done enough to earn a spot in Crouch’s XI.

Robert Sanchez unfortunate to miss out

Robert Sanchez is another Chelsea player who could have easily made Crouch’s Team of the Season.

The 28-year-old has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this campaign. In the end, Crouch went with Arsenal’s David Raya, but the former Brentford man and Sanchez have both kept the same number of clean sheets: nine. No other shot-stopper has managed to register more than that.

Although Chelsea were unable to beat Villa, Sanchez put in another top performance, showing why he is the team’s No.1. If Crouch did include him, there would not have been too many complaints.

If the rest of Chelsea’s starting XI had been as consistent as Sanchez, Cucurella and Caicedo, the Blues would still be in the top four.
