A special spin-off recorded earlier this year featured 100 kids in the place of adults as they attempt to prove their worth and make it all the way to the final 1% Club question.

ITV have now revealed a first-look at the brand new edition of the hit programme which is set to hit screens next year.

In the short clip, Lee Mack can be seen being left puzzled as the children contestants teach him all about the viral ‘6, 7’ trend.

After asking aloud about the kids’ seat numbers on the show set, Lee was stunned as the children began to move their hands in an up and down motion whilst saying: “6, 7.”

The 1% Club player wins £96k jackpot – but would you have known the answer?

With a perplexed look on his face, Lee beckoned to them: “What are you all doing that with your hands for?”

As the kids continued to repeat the actions, one of the show’s players explained to Lee exactly how the viral trend – known for its popularity on TikTok – came to be.

He said: “Basically, there was a song that had a lyric that said, ‘6, 7,’ and there was this basketball player who was 6 foot 7 and when he scored he looked at the camera and went ‘6, 7’.”

Lee answered back: “He did that with his hands?

“So now everyone does that?”

The funny clip then showed Lee saying “6, 7,” throughout the show’s taping in order to capture the attention of the players.

The ‘6, 7’ phrase has been heavily associated with Gen Alpha after going viral earlier this year.

It ultimately became Dictionary.com’s word of the year with its clear lack of meaning or context largely playing into its popularity.

Their official definition describes the nonsense phrase as “a burst of energy that spreads and connects people long before anyone agrees on what it actually means”.
