Red Wings’ Patrick Kane returns to lineup vs. Maple Leafs

The 37-year-old has been out with an upper-body injury since Dec. 13, and will play on Sunday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, per Red Wings writer Ansar Khan.

Kane will slot back in alongside Alex DeBrincat and Andrew Copp as Detroit looks to bounce back from Saturday’s loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

It wasn’t clear how Kane was injured, but after that Dec. 13 contest against the Chicago Blackhawks, Red Wings coach Todd McLellan said he “tweaked” something in his upper body.

Kane has played 24 games this season, scoring six goals and totalling 23 points.
