Pete Carroll provides postgame injury updates on Geno Smith and Adam Butler

After two of the Raiders starters – QB Geno Smith and DT Adam Butler – left Sunday’s game with injuries, Head Coach Pete Carroll provided injury updates during his postgame presser.

“Geno has a high ankle sprain. He’ll get checked out in the morning with MRIs and all that,” Carroll said.

Smith went down in the fourth quarter after dropping back to pass to Tyler Lockett, which was then intercepted. Smith was helped off the field, taken to the locker room and did not return to the game.

“That’s pretty hard to bounce back,” Carroll said of Smith’s ankle sprain. That might knock him out of next week, we’ll have to wait and see.”

Per Carroll, Butler sustained a bicep strain late in the second quarter.
