In their big battle against Vecna, Max and Holly were simply just trying to find their way back home. But, as we’ve already seen, it’s not that easy to make it back to the other side once you find yourself trapped in Vecna’s memories AKA Camazotz. And now things got even more complicated when they realized that they simply cannot make it out of there together. It is one of the most heartbreaking parts of the season and we’re still left wondering what it is coming up next for Holly. So will Holly be able to escape from Vecna’s grasp in Stranger Things 5?

So, wait, why couldn’t Holly escape with Max?
While they were both close to finally leaving, it is revealed that everyone’s portal is different and leads back to their respective bodies. Since Max’s portal was the only one that was open at the time, Holly couldn’t leave from there or else she would be completely lost.

Does Holly know how to find her way back?
Yes, and she was sort of successful. She did manage to find the portal to bring her back, however, she would find herself back in the Abyss instead of Hawkins since Vecna kidnapped her body and took her there. Because of that, she also needed to find a way to make it back to Hawkins through the Upside Down.
Luckily, she remembered what Max told her about gates and she found a spot that would connect the Abyss to the Upside Down. While she does make it close to be near Nancy, Dustin, and Steve who see her coming from the sky, she is unfortunately yanked back by Vecna who reaches through to bring her back to the Abyss and trapping her there again.
Can she try to escape again?
Right now, it looks like she’s enemy number one in the memory world that she’s trapped in by Vecna. While she knows how to get out of there now, it definitely will be harder to do it without any help. Luckily, it looks like the rest of the group now know how to make it to the Abyss to save her and the rest of the kids. We’re going to have to wait until the finale to find out if they make it out safe and sound!
