Preview: Millwall (A)

Bristol City continue their festive fixtures with a trip to The Den to face Millwall on Monday, December 29th (7:45pm).
The Robins head into the trip to the Capital off the back to consecutive wins over Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion respectively, moving up to sixth in the Sky Bet Championship table and ahead of Monday night’s opponents on goal difference.
George Tanner returned on the bench against the Baggies while Radek Vítek remains sidelined with a knee injury and Fally Mayulu is unavailable due to a quad injury.
Last time out against Millwall, City suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at Ashton Gate earlier this month and on the meeting with Alex Neil’s side, Gerhard Struber said: “We will do everything we can to pick up points. They are a difficult team to play against and we want to make it a really good game for us.”
City will be backed by more than 2,000 travelling fans in London, with pay on the day available at The Den with a £3 price increase and advanced tickets on sale until 11am on Monday.
Overseas supporters can watch all the action live on Robins TV, with match passes available for £10.
Following the match with the Lions, City host Portsmouth on New Year’s Day.
Our Opponents: Millwall
Millwall head into the match on a run of four games without a win after a goalless draw with Ipswich Town at the Den on Boxing Day.
Following the draw with the Tractor Boys, Head Coach Neil said: “I was really pleased with the effort they put into the game. I didn’t think we deserved to lose the game by any stretch – if anything, if any team would have nicked it, it would have been us nicking it.”
The home side could be without as many as nine first team players with injury, most notably key summer signing Josh Coburn, who has been out since October with a hip injury while top scorer Femi Azeez remains suspended after a red card against Hull City earlier this month.
Despite their recent drop off in form, the Bermondsey side have been a fixture in the top six of the division for much of the season and have lost just one of their past eight home matches.

ONE TO WATCH: MIHAILO IVANOVIĆ
Serbian forward Mihailo Ivanović started his professional career with Vojvodina in the Serbian SuperLiga making his professional debut in May 2022.
After an unsuccessful loan spell at Serie A side Sampdoria, Ivanović returned to his boyhood side and scored nine goals the following season for Vojvodina before earning a move to England in the summer of 2024 with Millwall.
Ivanović scored 13 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions last season, including six goals in final seven league games, helping his side to their joint highest league finish of the past 20 seasons.
While the 21-year-old forward has just four goals so far this season, the physical forward is a key player for Neil’s Millwall, starting all but two matches this season and scored the vital winner the last time the two sides faced.
