Noland and Franklin Sweep Ivy League Weekly Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia men’s basketball senior Kenny Noland has been named Ivy League Player of the Week, while first-year Miles Franklin garnered Ivy League Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Noland and Franklin led the Lions (10-3) to a gritty 90-82 win at North Florida on Sunday. Noland matched his career-high with 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting and Franklin dropped a career-best 19 points while tying his career-high in rebounds with seven.
Noland also hit four triples, grabbed four rebounds, and tallied three assists in the victory over the Ospreys. The Apex, North Carolina native now has six 20-point games on the season and is 28 points away from hitting the 1,000-point mark for his career.
Franklin tallied his seventh double-figure scoring performance of the season on Sunday. The Vienna, Virginia native was 6-12 from the field against North Florida and went 7-8 from the free throw line.
Columbia hosts PSU Abington on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium to close out non-conference play.
