11 Hottest Movie Sex Scenes of 2025: From Alison Brie in ‘Together’ to Micheal B. Jordan in ‘Sinners’

The year is coming to a close, which means everyone is posting their year-end lists of the best movies and TV shows of 2025. But we have another year-end list tradition here at the Decider, and it’s probably not a list you’ll want to email to your family: best movie sex scenes of 2025.
A well-executed sex scene in a movie does more than just excite audiences—it draws them into the world of the characters with an artistic rendering of one our most basic, universal desires. A poorly executed sex scene, on the other hand, can take audiences out, make everyone involved uncomfortable, and ruin the vibe of an entire film. So, when we see a good sex scene, we think that’s worth celebrating.
Sex on screen in Hollywood isn’t what it used to be. Of the top-grossing movies of the year in the U.S. so far, only two—Sinners and Wicked: For Good—featured sex. Unfortunately, I could not, in good conscious, include Wicked on this list. Sorry to the Jonathan Bailey stans. The sex cardigan was simply too much for me. But Sinners definitely makes the list.

I can honestly say that I have never in my life seen a sex scene quit like the one in Alison Brie and Dave Franco’s body horror movie Together. Written and directed by Michael Shanks, Together stars this real-life married couple as a fictional couple who encounter a mysterious force that starts to physically fuse their bodies together. It’s probably not a good idea to have sex in a elementary school bathroom when you’re dealing with that, but that’s exactly what they do. If you’re wondering if the movie goes there—yes, it absolutely does. When Franco finds himself stuck inside Brie, the familiar, genuine chemistry between the two leads helps shoo away any distracting thoughts of how awkward this scene would have been to film. It’s can’t-look-away-from-a-car-crash levels of horrifying and fascinating, and easily my top sex scene of the year.

Ryan Coogler did not shy away from sex in Sinners, and we’re grateful. There’s no doubt that Hailee Steinfeld is very beautiful, but the hottest sex scene in Sinners—and, indeed, one of the hottest sex scenes of the year—is the raw, tender moment of passion between Smoke (Michael B. Jordan) and his estranged wife Annie (Wunmi Mosaku). First, Annie hits Smoke with some very sensual ear nibbles. The face that Jordan makes when she does is, well, let’s just call it memorable. Then he flips her around and takes her from behind. Despite the lack of nudity, it’s incredibly hot.

Never in my life have I laughed harder in a movie theater than I did at the sexy Snowman threesome featured in The Naked Gun remake, which wins the award for funniest sex scene of 2025. Directed by Akiva Schaffer, who also co-wrote the script with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the new Naked Gun perfected captured the absurd, ridiculous spirit of the ‘80s spoof franchise. No where is that more true than when Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. (Liam Neeson) takes his hot, femme fatale love interest (Pamela Anderson) on a romantic getaway to a snowy cabin. In a brilliant sequence that obliterates the stereotypical falling-in-love montage, Neeson and Anderson build a snowman together, only to have it come to life. So, naturally, the three of them—Neeson, Anderson, and some guy in a snowman suit—have sex. At one point, Neeson and Anderson sensually bite chunks of the frosty guy’s hands. Neeson even adds flavoring. Now that’s what I call a tasty sex scene.

Dylan O’Brien only briefly plays a gay man in the dark indie comedy Twinless, but god, he really makes those scenes count. For that, I sincerely thank writer, director and star James Sweeney. The film follows Roman (O’Brien) who recently lost his twin brother, and joins a support group. There, he meets Dennis (Sweeney), who claims to also be grieving his dead twin. But as we see in a hilarious, hot flashback—featuring Dennis having enthusiastic, explicit sex with Roman’s brother, begging to hear more details about his twin-ness—Dennis is not a twin at all. He’s a lonely, compulsive liar with a twin kink. Can you blame him? As this movie proves, twins are hot.

Following the delightful Drive Away Dolls, this second entry in what director Ethan Coen and co-writer Tricia Cooke are calling their “lesbian B-movie trilogy” stars Margaret Qualley stars as a private detective named Honey O’Donahue, working to solve a murder case that involves a religious cult. Also on the case is MG Falcone (Aubrey Plaza), a police officer who feels a spark with Honey. The movie didn’t make much sense, at least we do get a super hot, super spicy sex scene where Qualley and Plaza hook up. It starts with Plaza fingering Qualley in a dive bar, and ends with Qualley handcuffing Plaza to her bed. Let’s go lesbians!

If you thought Brett Goldstein was swoon-worthy as Roy Kent in Ted Lasso, just wait til you see him in All of You. If anyone can make cheating seem hot, it’s this dude. And that’s exactly what he and his co-star, Imogen Poots, do in this sci-fi romance directed by William Bridges, who co-wrote the script with Bridges. The film takes place sometime in the near future where a process known as “The Test” can definitively find anyone’s one, true soulmate. Goldstein’s character, Simon, is very much against The Test, but he still gallantly pays for his best friend Laura (Poots) to take it. Spoiler alert: These two aren’t soulmates. But the super steamy sex scene where they do it right there on the hallway floor in Laura’s apartment—because they simply need each other that urgently—begs to differ.

It’s hard to pick just one sex scene in Fall For Me, a German Netflix original movie that is, essentially, just soft-core porn. But we’ll go with the one that comes (pun intended) in the middle of the film, in which the two horny lovebirds (played by Svenja Jung and Theo Trebs) do right there in the sand on the beach. It’s starts with a passionate ocean make-out sex, which leads to Jung ripping off her top. (Something she does a lot in the movie. You see a lot of nipple!) The lovers take it to the shore to get down and very, very dirty. You just know some sand ended up in some unsavory places.

Heart Eyes is a close second after Naked Gun for funniest sex scene of 2025. This horror comedy—directed by Josh Ruben (known for his other horror comedy Werewolves Within)—is not quite the new Scream, but it certainly has some funny moments. Like, for example, the moment when protagonists Ally (Olivia Holt) and Jay (Mason Gooding) dive into the nearest van to hide from the notorious Valentine’s Day killer, Heart Eyes. Unfortunately, the van is already occupied by hippies having very loud, enthusiastic sex. It’s so loud, in fact, that the sex moans end up attracting the killer to their hiding spot. Oops!

Nia DaCosta’s new retelling of the famed Henrik Ibsen play, Hedda Gabler, simmers with sex in every frame. Thompson stars in the lead role, as a recently married woman bored with passion-less marriage, and still hung up on her voluptuous former lover Eileen, played by Nina Hoss. That said, there’s only one actual sex scene, and sadly, it’s not a sapphic one. Never the less, it’s still very hot when Hedda’s husband George (Tom Bateman) goes down on her in the middle of a party. At least he’s good for something!

The opening sex scene in the new Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson psychological thriller, Die My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay, goes by so quickly, it’s hard to qualify it as a “scene.” Still, it does feature two of today’s hottest movie stars naked, so I’d be remiss not to include it on this list. A fast rock song blasts while Lawrence and Pattinson—a married couple who recently moved from New York City to Pattinson’s middle-of-no-where home tome in Montana—furiously christen their new home, right there on the dirty floorboards. The sex is violent—the foreplay is quite literally wrestling—which neatly tees up the theme of the movie.

I never thought I’d include a documentary in one of these “best sex scenes of the year” lists, but clearly, I underestimated Brazilian pop star Anitta’s exhibition kink. In her recent 2025 Netflix documentary, the singer takes a naked shower with her film’s director and childhood friend, Pedro Cantelmo. It’s not quite sex, but it’s most certainly some very heavy foreplay. Anitta, who seems to enjoy flirting with Pedro (clearly in love with her), playfully informs her director that he is dirty. She offers to wash him. Cantelmo carefully sets up a camera in the bathroom, aimed at the hotel bathroom’s glass shower door. He and Anitta, both completely naked, step into the shower together, where Anitta begins to run her hands all over his body to “wash” him. The glass door is pretty foggy, and at one point Anitta wipes away the fog with her arm to reveal that, yes, her breasts are fully out. Call me an American prude if you want, but I was shocked!
