Blackpool boy, 16, arrested after potential explosives found

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after potentially explosive material was found in Blackpool, police have said.
Several houses were evacuated after officers found “a quantity of items of concern” at a property on Gloucester Avenue at about 11:30 GMT.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said the teenager had been arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act.
Bomb disposal specialists attended the scene to assess the items. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service were also deployed.
