Hulu app to shut down in 2026, content to be fully integrated with Disney+

(Gray News) — Having the Hulu app on your TV or other devices will soon be a thing of the past.
Hulu and all its content have been fully integrated into the Disney+ app, and the stand‑alone Hulu app will become unavailable sometime in 2026.
This means that Hulu shows and movies will be available on Disney+, but you will no longer be able to watch them on the Hulu app.
The exact date Hulu’s platform will be disabled is not yet known, but Disney was contacted for further information.
The news was first reported by Variety in August.
The outlet reported that Disney planned to “fully integrate” the Hulu service, which it now owns 100%, into its flagship Disney+ streamer.
Variety said that Disney began merging Hulu content with Disney+ in spring 2024.
A Disney representative initially said that customers would still be able to purchase a stand‑alone Hulu subscription as well as a stand‑alone Disney+ plan without buying a bundle. However, Disney’s sign-up page does not show individual plan options; the most basic plan available is a Disney+ and Hulu bundle.
For customers who use Hulu + Live TV, a Disney representative told Variety that it will also be integrated into Disney+ sometime in 2026.
