On Monday, Dec. 29, she posted a behind-the-scenes video on her Instagram story, wrapped in a white towel, with a countdown to her upcoming album, Locket. The timing is the point. Locket is scheduled to drop Jan. 16, and Beer has been feeding fans small, controlled looks at the project as the release gets closer.
Madison Beer’s towel-wrapped Instagram story was a clean signal that ‘Locket’ is almost here
Beer’s Monday story was simple and intentional: a BTS clip from a shoot, a towel, and a countdown. No long caption. No extra context. Just a reminder that the clock is running. She also gave more context on the album in an interview with Vogue, explaining why she landed on the title. “When I picked the name, I was thinking of things that were just real and genuine to me,” Beer said. “And to be honest, I was going through my camera roll a lot, and just seeing the things I photograph most often or gravitate towards.”

Beer tied the name to what a locket represents to her. “And I really love vintage stuff, I love antiques. I feel like lockets are very delicate and beautiful, and feminine, and they hold important things, and memories, and people, and places, and it just felt like the right title. I actually picked it before I’d even written a lot of the album,” she added.Earlier this month, Beer also posted about the timeline in a direct way. “my album comes out in one month,” Beer wrote on Instagram. She later included the track list in the same post, after previously sharing it Dec. 1.
Justin Herbert and Madison Beer’s public timeline is moving fast, and the spotlight is not slowing down
Beer’s album push has been happening alongside her growing visibility around the Los Angeles Chargers.Last week, she attended the Chargers’ game against the Houston Texans. Photos of her at SoFi Stadium on Dec. 27 were shared the next day on X by the fan account “Madison Beer Updates.” In one image, she posed indoors beside a fan while wearing an oversized gray Chargers sweatshirt, with her hair down and glasses on. Another post showed her in the stands during the game. The Chargers lost 20-16 to Houston. The loss dropped Los Angeles to 11-5 and tightened its AFC playoff race situation, while Houston’s win secured its third straight playoff spot. The same result also knocked the Indianapolis Colts out of playoff contention and locked up the AFC West title for the Denver Broncos.Beer and Herbert’s relationship has its own timeline too, and it is now fully public. They sparked dating rumors in August, then confirmed things in October after they were seen together on the sidelines at a Chargers game. Beer also attended the Chargers-Washington Commanders game, where the two were shown kissing on the sideline.Beer has also been blunt about what comes with this kind of attention. During an Instagram Q&A on Dec. 18, she addressed online hate and how it lands depending on the day. “If I’m feeling good in my personal life, having a good day etc, it’s much easier for me to brush it off and focus on what’s really in front of me these days, which is growth I’m really proud of,” Beer wrote. “But we all know the truth is most days aren’t perfect like that. I struggle with my mental health a lot, so it is really painful to go online and read so much negativity about yourself, for anyone. But especially when you are already struggling.”That is the lane she is in right now. Album countdown on one side. NFL spotlight on the other. And she is clearly not waiting for anyone’s permission to control the narrative
