Ohio State expected to hire new wide receivers coach from LSU: Report

ARLINGTON, Texas — Just hours after Ohio State’s season ended, the Buckeyes reportedly have a new receivers coach.
According to multiple reports on Thursday morning, the Buckeyes are set to hire Cortez Hankton. He recently was the co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach with LSU.
Hankton has been with LSU since 2022, and previously coached at Georgia, Vanderbilt and Dartmouth as the wide receivers coach. He also held the title of passing game coordinator at Georgia and LSU.
The 44-year-old is from New Orleans, Louisiana, and had a stint in the NFL after his playing career ended at Texas Southern. He played for the Jaguars, Vikings and Buccaneers.
Ohio State was in the market to make the hire after offensive coordinator and receivers coach Brian Hartline accepted the head coaching job at USF earlier in December. The hope is that Hankton can continue the path that Ohio State receivers have been on.
As it stands, the offensive staff is set barring any further changes, expect for Day’s hire of a coordinator.
