Netflix Reboots Classic ‘80s NBC Show: Release Date and Details

An old-school family favorite is getting the Netflix reboot treatment.
Announced in July 2025, “Little House on the Prairie” revives NBC’s Western historical drama of the same name, which ran from 1974 to 1983.
As before, it centers on the Ingalls family, who live on a farm on Plum Creek, Minnesota in the late 19th century. With the show currently being filmed in Canada, Netflix has now revealed the full cast.
Newcomer Alice Halsey (“Lessons in Chemistry”) stars as Laura Ingalls, who, according to Netflix, is “observant, tender, strong-willed, and hot-tempered,” and utterly devoted to her dog, Jack. Luke Bracey (“Elvis,” “Hacksaw Ridge”) plays her father, Charles, while Crosby Fitzgerald (“Palm Royale”) plays Laura’s mother, Caroline.
“I am absolutely thrilled with the brilliant cast we have assembled,” showrunner and executive producer Rebecca Sonnenshine tells Tudum. “Each one of them brings something special to the Little House universe and will help make this story come alive for a whole new generation.”
