Gogglebox stars Tom and Julie Malone welcome new family member: “Who have we got here?”

Gogglebox stars Tom and Julie Malone have welcomed a new member to their family after introducing their new dog in a new episode of the hugely popular Channel 4 reality show.

Appearing on the show since 2014, the Malone family, who live in Manchester, were typically seen enjoying the telly while accompanied by their Rottweiler dogs.

Last year, the family announced the sad death of their beloved dog Bobby, sharing a heartfelt post to the family Instagram account. The death marked the fourth dog the family had lost since appearing on the show.

This has not stopped the Malones from opening up their home to an animal in need, with the family sharing the news that they had adopted another dog during Thursday’s episode of the show.

In the episode, which included Tom and Julie’s son Shaun and their granddaughter Saoirse, the family introduced their new rescue pup.

Tom asked Saoirse: “Who have we got here?” as their new dog bounced into the room to play with the young girl.

Revealing the new family member’s name, Tom asked his grandchild: “Buddy! Is he your new doggie? Have you rescued him from the pound?” with Saoirse replying: “Yeah,” as the puppy continued to play.

Tom quipped: “We got this again have we? We got another nutcase in the house haven’t we? All right buddy are you the nutcase of the house now?!”

Following last year’s sad news, the Malones shared a statement that read: “Today we said goodbye to our beautiful protective Bobby. He spent his last day doing what he loved, watching over the Grandchildren playing in the garden. We are heartbroken. RIP our beautiful Big Bob xx.”

Their son Shaun also shared a sweet tribute to their late dog, writing on his personal Instagram page: “Today is the day we had to say goodbye to big bob, absolute great dog like a big cuddly bear.”

Gogglebox airs and streams on Channel 4.
