Honolulu firefighters extinguish blaze at Nanakuli home

Honolulu firefighters extinguished a fire at a Nanakuli home on Thursday.
At 5:50 p.m., a 911 caller reported the fire near Nanakuli Avenue and Mano Avenue. The Honolulu Fire Department sent 12 units and 37 personnel, with the first unit arriving three minutes later to find a single-family home on fire.
Firefighters started battling the blaze and searched the home to confirm that there were no occupants were inside the building.
They had the fire under control at 5:49 p.m. and extinguished at 6:06 p.m.
HFD is investigating to determine the fire’s origin and cause and to provide damage estimates.
Department officials remind the public that smoke alarms are essential in every building.
