Traitors finalist Alexander’s life now including job change

Dubbed by some as the ‘people’s champion’ his life has changed dramatically since the show

A new series of The Traitors is in progress, with its first episode having aired on BBC One on New Year’s Day.

Host Claudia Winkleman welcomed 22 fresh faces into the Scottish castle for the ultimate game of trust and betrayal. Not only did the presenter select three Traitors as usual, but in a massive twist for the show, she also chose a Secret Traitor.

This individual’s identity is concealed not only from all the players but also from the viewers tuning in at home. This means fans will need to be more vigilant than ever if they are to try and deduce who the hidden Traitor is.

All contestants are vying for the chance to win up to £120,000. They could end up dividing the pot amongst Faithfuls, but a Traitor could potentially snatch it all for themselves.

Undoubtedly, the amount of money on offer could be life-altering. However, merely appearing on the show has proven to have a profound impact on the lives of some previous participants, reports Wales Online.

One such person is series three’s favourite Alexander Dragonetti. The 39 year old diplomat quickly became a fan favourite and made it all the way to the final. Regrettably, he just missed out on winning a share of the money.

However, since the show ended, his career has seen significant advancements and changes. So, where is Alexander now and what is he doing? Here’s everything you need to know.

Where is Alexander Dragonetti now?

London-born Alex, once a teacher, embarked on a global journey when he joined the Foreign Office, with his role taking him to far-flung corners of the world such as Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Ireland.

While he hasn’t entirely abandoned this path, he’s certainly navigating it differently now. Alexander seems to be using his TikTok platform to give people a glimpse into the life of a diplomat.

He even shared an Instagram video where he engaged in a conversation with Prime Minister Keir Starmer about his rapport with President Donald Trump.

Alexander is also available for speaking engagements and conferences, promising to “reflect on the lessons in risk, communication and values he’s learned through his adventurous, unconventional life.” His speaking fees range from £5,000 – £10,000.

In addition to this, he has ventured into presenting, hosting a series for Classic FM last year. Come March 2025, he’s set to take centre stage in a five-part series titled Trust Me, It’s A Classic.

Each episode will see Alexander pay tribute to some of the most iconic pieces of classical music, as well as tunes that hold personal significance for him.

What happened to Alexander Dragonetti’s brother and is he still single?

During his time on the programme, he shared deeply personal details about his younger brother, who lived with global developmental delay and autism before passing away at 17, when Alexander was 24. He later acknowledged finding this experience ‘tricky’, yet his openness sparked incredible generosity, with Mencap – the charity supporting people with learning disabilities alongside their families and carers – receiving £60,000 from viewers moved by Alexander’s heartfelt account.

Alexander has since become an Ambassador for the organisation. As for his romantic status, he remains unattached.

At least that was the case during a chat with Hello magazine in February of last year. He revealed: “Yes, I am single! I had no idea Claudia was going to do an aside to the camera. She doesn’t really do that, and I particularly had no idea that she was going to disclose my marital status on national TV. But Claudia is always right, so I assume that she knew what she was doing.”

The Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One and streaming on iPlayer.
