Life should feel a bit simpler today as the sun and Venus align. With both planets in serious Capricorn, you probably won’t be able to release your worries entirely, but it’ll be easier to find a balance between fulfilling your obligations and enjoying yourself. It could be especially easy to work collaboratively and get along well with others, and while there’s no reason to be unnecessarily effusive, there’s also no point in being coy. If you think highly of someone, this is a great day to let them know.

In general, you manage to give the impression that you don’t care what anyone thinks of you. But as independent as you are, you still want to be respected and appreciated, and it hurts when it seems nobody really sees your talents or contributions. Today, though, people are likely to take notice. You don’t need to chase attention or do anything particularly special — right now, simply being yourself is enough to lead to the care and recognition you’ve been waiting for.

You may feel a bit restless today and start imagining that major life changes are in order. But chances are you don’t need to change your whole life; you’re just tired of your routines and in need of some variety. This is a good day for new experiences, no matter how small. Even an action as simple as trying a new restaurant or taking a different route through the neighborhood could be enough to satisfy you. You may feel safe when your life is familiar and predictable, but every so often, a bit of novelty will do you good.

You may not be a people pleaser by nature, but all the same, you know how to tell people what they want to hear. You understand that, sometimes, it’s the simplest way to keep the peace. Today, though, you’re better off being direct about your feelings — even if your emotions seem to inconvenience the people around you. Your friends are strong enough to deal with a bit of momentary friction, and your honesty will set you up for a stronger relationship in the long run.

Sometimes, your compassionate nature gives others the impression that you’re a pushover, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Once you make up your mind about something, you tend to stick to it; you can be surprisingly stubborn about the issues you care most about. Today, though, make an effort to see things from others’ perspectives. You don’t need to change your mind or agree with them, but understanding where they’re coming from will make all your interactions easier and more pleasant.

When you look for things to worry about, you’ll always come up with something — the parts of your life that aren’t going particularly well or hypothetical futures. But today, try to avoid getting carried away by abstract concerns. You’ll never come to a satisfying resolution that way; you’ll only make yourself feel worse. Focusing on the tangible things in front of you, on making yourself useful in real, material ways, will give you the sense of purpose, clarity, and calm you’ve been looking for.

While the simplest and most practical solution is often the best, there are exceptions to every rule. Sometimes, you need to be willing to experiment with new ideas, to test out possibilities that may seem silly to the people around you. Today especially, don’t discount the value of a creative, counterintuitive solution to a problem that has been nagging at you. If you’re willing to trust your own imagination, to go out on a limb, you’ll probably be rewarded for it.

For the most part, you’re not interested in drama. You’re happy to listen when your friends have stories of turmoil and intrigue to share, and you’re generally good at offering support and advice, but you personally prefer a more peaceful daily existence. Today, even more than usual, you’re likely to want calm and quiet; just hearing about issues that don’t involve you has the potential to stress you out. So for now, do your best to stick to surroundings that feel predictable and familiar. You’ll have plenty of time for excitement later.

There are enough serious problems in the world — and in your own life, too — that you sometimes feel guilty for enjoying yourself at all. Your time is finite, and you imagine you “should” be using every moment of it productively. But today, try to remind yourself that there’s value in rest, in daydreaming, in joking around with your friends. You aren’t responsible for fixing everything that’s wrong with the world, but you are responsible for living well, and that means having lighthearted moments along with the serious ones.

There are always things in life that need to be fixed — or at least could stand to be improved. So you always try to be learning and growing; you never want to become complacent. Today, though, take a break from all that and focus on appreciating the good things around you. It’s not about being smugly self-satisfied or pretending everything is perfect — it’s just that stopping to notice the good every so often makes dealing with the bad more bearable.

You tend to be hard on yourself, sometimes unreasonably so. While dwelling on your shortcomings doesn’t feel good, you’re satisfied to know you’re at least being honest. Today, just remember true honesty and balance require that you acknowledge your best traits, too. Right now, especially, focusing on your strengths is the best way to find creative and workable solutions to any problems you’re facing. Leaning on the things you do well will take you far.

Once you reach a milestone, you tend to start looking forward to the next; no sooner do you hit one major goal than you start making moves toward another. But it’s important to give yourself some time to stop and breathe, to recharge your batteries, to reflect on all that you’ve done. Today, take a moment to look back on all you’ve accomplished recently. You may not be completely satisfied, and you may have more you still want to achieve, but celebrating all your small wins is part of the process.

In general, your ability to read between the lines only benefits your relationships. You can pick up on the feelings that go unspoken, rather than requiring every little thing to be spelled out explicitly. Today, however, it may be nice to take a break from reading so deeply into everything. Sometimes, it’s a relief — for both you and those around you — to take people at their word. Trust that your friends are doing their best to say what they mean; it isn’t your responsibility to dig for hidden meaning.
