Jennifer Lawrence Borrows the Pop of Purple Styling Trick From Zoë Kravitz

Jennifer Lawrence—famed devotee of the “pop-of-red” and “pop-of-blue” styling tricks—has kicked off 2026 on a bold note, dressing up a cold-weather outfit with a royal purple accent.
Bracing for the sub-freezing temps in New York on Monday, the actor wore a sturdy black puffer jacket, a red V-neck sweater, wide-legged gray trousers, and sandy Ugg boots, dressing up the look with her accessories: a ladylike Hermès Bolide top-handle bag in burgundy alligator, sleek black wraparound shades, and a statement-making La Ligne scarf.

At the end of 2025, Vogue hoped to see “power purple” trending in the new year—and, just days into 2026, it seems like celebrities are on board. In December, Zoë Kravitz hit the streets of Rome with Harry Styles, her arms wrapped around his bicep and a violet scarf wrapped around her neck. Now, Lawrence is following suit with an accessory as vibrant as it is utilitarian.
While purple may seem difficult to wear (it is a lot), stars have gone all-in. Colman Domingo rocked a vibrant Bode suit late last year, while Greta Lee opted for a violet Colleen Allen dress for the New York Film Festival, and Julia Roberts hit the 2025 Gotham Awards carpet in a bold Tom Ford suit.
So whether it’s something as simple as a scarf, à la Jennifer Lawrence or Zoë Kravitz, or committing to the bit like Colman Domingo and Greta Lee, give purple a try in 2026.
