City Hall said the Elizabeth line fare to Heathrow “would still be much cheaper than the Heathrow Express” – currently £25 for a single ticket – and would only impact single journeys, mostly tourists flying out of Heathrow, as the fares cap would protect Londoners travelling to and from Heathrow for work.
