Welcome to December 2025’s review of top 5 posts for the month—our final one for the year. No surprise, it was all about restaurants: a re-opening, a future opening, a closing, excitement for openings, and an update on a popular restaurant.
As far as traffic goes, it was, as the kids say, a banger of a month—the best one ever for Bridgetown Bites. Over 66,000 unique visitors generated over 87,000 page views. Compared to November 2025, it’s an increase of 48% and 41%, respectively.

5. Sure Shot Burger Will Open a Restaurant in 2026 in Portland
The celebrated burger cart Sure Shot Burger that operates alongside the Oakshire Beer Hall on NE 42nd Avenue, is looking forward to some changes in the new year. They’ll be transitioning to a brick-and-mortar restaurant located just feet away—the space that has been home to Taqueria Los Pepitos Locos since 2016.
4. Grant’s Philly Cheesesteaks in Portland: Closed? Here’s What We Know
It appears that after 22 years in business, Grant’s Philly Cheesesteaks has closed. They had two locations, one in East Portland (15350 NE Sandy Blvd) and one in Northwest Portland (1203 NW 23rd Avenue). Here is what we know so far about what’s up with this Portland cheesesteak destination.
3. Taste of Sichuan Has Re-Opened in Beaverton
Back in March of this year we published an article called Taste of Sichuan Will Re-Open in Beaverton. Originally the plan sounded like they’d re-open in April, but delays happened. In the end, they re-opened on Sunday, November 2. Co-owner Dietmar Schimmel and I agreed to chat about Taste of Sichuan after they re-opened, and here is part of our conversation.
2. Restaurants Opening in Portland in 2026: What We’re Excited About
As we head toward the end of the year, a lot of things come to mind—and that includes looking forward to the restaurants opening in Portland in 2026. Here are the ones (that we know at this point in time) we’re particularly keen on in the new year.
1. Division Street Dairy Queen in Portland: An Update
About a year ago, we wrote about the Division Street Dairy Queen (SE Division and 55th Avenue). At that point in time, the folks at DQ were expecting to start construction in January 2025 with an estimated completion of June 2025. Obviously that has not happened. Permitting surrounding the drive-through is a big part of the saga, and the community has also voiced their concerns with and support of it. Here are some updates.
