Rangers have reportedly opened talks with Sturm Graz in a bid to bring in midfielder Tochi Chukwuani this month.
Danny Rohl is hoping for a major squad revamp with the backing of US owners Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises after steering the Light Blues back into the Scottish Premiership title race. Record Sport revealed that Rangers are looking to sell up to six players this month in order to fund deals for new recruits, with the likes of Lyall Cameron, Findlay Curtis and Oscar Cortes set to leave on loan.
Joe Rothwell is expected to depart this month having dropped out of the first-team picture since Rohl’s arrival, with the club eyeing midfielder reinforcements. BK Hacken star Silas Andersen is on the agenda while a move for Pierre Ekwah is being held up by red tape.
A move for Chukwuani now appears to have taken a step closer with the Rangers Review reporting the 22-year-old is “high” on their list of targets. The Danish U21 cap joined Sturm in 2024 from Lyngby.
The Glasgow giants are also keen on a left-back this month with young Brentford loanee Jayden Meghoma the only natural option in the position. There has been interest in resurrecting their summer interest in former Hearts star James Penrice.

However, reports in Greece suggest that AEK have closed the door on a deal and “will not enter into discussions over a sale” for a “valuable member of the squad.” Westerlo defender Tuur Rommens is also noted to be an option.
It is claimed that a deal for 22-year-old is “more likely” at this stage than a deal for Penrice, due to the younger age profile of the Belgium U21 cap.
