Warm welcome: SA’s sizzling New Year’s forecast

South Australians can expect clear skies and warm temperatures across the state to see out 2025 with the weather tipped to heat up into the next year.
After Monday hit a high of 39C in Adelaide’s CBD, a cooler Tuesday with a top of 25C is in store for people in the city.
New Year’s Eve is set to reach a max of 25C and if you’re out celebrating, it is forecast to be a pleasant 18C at 8.30pm and only drop to 15C as the clock ticks over to midnight and into 2026.
Things will heat up again from the first day of the new year, with 29C set for Thursday, before the city pushes up to 32C for Friday and Saturday, with a 30C day on Sunday to round out the week.
It is set to be hotter elsewhere in the state with the Riverland forecast to reach temperatures of at least 30C for the next seven days.
Renmark can expect a top of 35C on Tuesday, 30C on New Year’s Eve, 32C on the first day in January and temperatures of 36C, 38C and 36C to finish off the week.
In the Mid North, similar temperatures will be felt with low to mid 30s tipped for the next seven days at Renmark, and it will push even higher into the high 30s across the Flinders region.
Further north, temperatures are set to be in the high 30s into the 40s for the North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral regions for the next seven days.
In the South East, temperatures will range from the mid 20s from Tuesday to the mid 30s heading into the week.
