Rangers have made their move for Belgian Under-21 star Tuur Rommens.

The Ibrox side are desperate to beef up their options at left-back having clawed their way back into the Premiership title race.

Danny Rohl has overseen a remarkable turnaround in fortunes but there is a realisation at the club that the German gaffer is going to need reinforcements if he’s to see his push for silverware all the way to the end of the season.

And Record Sport understands Gers are now stepping up their move for Westerlo defender Rommens.

A bid in the region of 3.5million Euros is now being considered by the Belgian Pro League outfit, who are managed by former Gers assistant coach Issame Charai.

Philippe Clement’s former sidekick is desperate to keep hold of Rommens, who he regards as a vital member of his first-team.

But Gers are pushing hard for the 22-year-old having reportedly seen a move for former Hearts ace James Penrice booted out by his current Greek club AEK Athens.

Rommens had been an ever-present member of Charai’s team for much of the season before picking up an ankle knock at the end of October.

But he made his return to action last month, where he impressed the watching Gers scouts.
