Report: Dolphins fire head coach Mike McDaniel

The Miami Dolphins are now looking for a new coach.

The Dolphins fired head coach Mike McDaniel on Thursday after going 7-10 in his fourth season, the team announced.

Miami also fired general manager Chris Grier mid-season and is now looking for replacements for both.

“After careful evaluation and extensive discussions since the season ended, I have made the decision that our organization is in need of comprehensive change,” owner Stephen Ross wrote in a statement.

The Dolphins are now the eighth team searching for a new head coach this off-season.

Miami missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons despite an often explosive offence helmed by McDaniel.

Despite staying healthy, starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa struggled this season with 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions before he was benched in Week 16.

He recently said he would welcome a fresh start.

Now, Miami could head into next season with new faces at GM, head coach and QB.
