The Best of CES 2026: The Products We Want to Get Our Hands On Most

Pebble Index 01, March 2026, $75 preorder, $100 after preorder

Of all the smart rings we’ve seen in the past year, the Pebble Index 01 is the least “smart,” as it’s a ring designed to help you dictate your thoughts, with a microphone that you activate through a satisfying physical button. That’s it — just a discreet, one-handed way to take notes and set reminders.

I’ve already preordered the Index 01. My current solution for jotting down my brilliant shower thoughts is to ask my partner to text me incomprehensible scraps of information (“dark toner” or “4 pounds 10 ounces,” say). After trying on the Index 01 at CES, I’m hopeful it will become my new personal assistant.

The downside: The Index 01 cannot be recharged. Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky says its battery will last about two years depending on how much you use it. But when that battery runs out, the Index 01 becomes e-waste. Migicovsky said this was a necessary trade-off to keep the Index 01 sleek, waterproof, and less expensive, but when it dies, you can ship the old ring back, and the company will take it apart, scrap the internal electronics, and melt down the band.

I cannot wait for mine to arrive so that my partner can finally know peace.
