Police investigate bomb threat at Leander High School parking lot, students remain indoors

The Leander Police Department, with the assistance of the Cedar Park Police Department, is investigating a possible bomb threat at Leander High School.

The incident was reported on Friday at approximately 2 p.m. via Facebook.

Police stated that the threat is located in one of the high school parking lots, although the specific lot has not been disclosed.

All students are being kept inside the building for their safety. Authorities have asked parents arriving at the school to park at the tennis courts behind the school.

“At this time, this threat has not been verified, and no bombs have been located,” Leander police said at around 2:05 p.m.

Police also urge the public to stay away from the area as a precaution. No injuries have been reported.

Cedar Park police have blocked off all northbound traffic on South Bagdad Road at West New Hope Drive.

The investigation is ongoing.
