The Memphis Grizzlies are open to trade offers for two-time NBA All-Star guard Ja Morant ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline, a league source confirmed to The Athletic.

ESPN first reported Friday that Memphis was entertaining offers for the 26-year-old and that multiple teams were pursuing Morant in trade talks.

In 18 games this season, Morant has averaged 19.0 points (his lowest total since his rookie season) and 7.6 assists per game. His 2-point (47.0) and 3-point (20.8) percentages are also his lowest in an NBA season, though his availability has been sporadic.

Morant has missed the Grizzlies’ past three games due to a right calf contusion. He also suffered a calf strain in November that caused him to miss nearly a month. Less than two weeks into the season, the Grizzlies suspended Morant for one game for “conduct detrimental to the team” after his apparent criticism of coaches following a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

After finishing second in the Western Conference in 2021-22 (when Morant won Most Improved Player) and 2022-23, the Grizzlies stumbled to a 27-55 record in 2023-24, a season in which Morant only played nine games. They finished 48-34 last season after firing coach Taylor Jenkins and replacing him with Tuomas Iisalo in the campaign’s final weeks.

The Grizzlies enter Friday’s game against Oklahoma City at 16-21, losing five of their last six games. They sit 10th in the West.
