Police in Abbotsford, B.C., descended on a neighbourhood on Friday afternoon following a shooting.
Sgt. Paul Walker with the Abbotsford Police Department confirmed that officers were called to a home in the 3200 block of Siskin Drive just after 12:30 p.m.
He said they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and, despite life-saving measures, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

“This incident, I want to stress, is not extortion-related,” Walker said, “but related to the B.C. gang conflict. The individual in the home is well-known to police and is connected to that B.C. gang conflict.”
He added that the shooting on Friday was “specific” and targeted that person; however, they will not be releasing the man’s identity at this time.
