Lest you think the allegedly “toxic” celebrity mom group drama is running out of steam, the ongoing Ashley French (née Tisdale) blogging-motivated feud remains ongoing. After French published an essay in The Cut about why she quit hanging out with her core group of celeb mom friends, there has been endless speculation as to why and how this all went down. French’s reps tried to deny via TMZ that any of her writing was about her celeb mom group, but that implies that the actress fell out with a different mom friend group and that the celebs she used to hang out with and just unrelatedly not hanging out with her anymore. Lightning can strike twice, I guess, but maybe not so much like this.

The last major party to get involved was Hilary Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, who dummied up his own version of a cover story that implied French was “self-obsessed,” but now the Meghan Trainor–Daryl Sabara household has stepped into the fray. Trainor, as she does all things in her life, turned this whole thing into content, posting a video on her TikTok set to her song “Still Don’t Care.”

TMZ caught Trainor’s husband on January 8 and when asked to comment, he gave what is perhaps the most normal statement on the whole affair so far. “Just trying to keep the kids happy, you know?” he told reporters. “I don’t really know what’s going on; I hope she’s okay, though,” he said of French. You know what? Good for him. More celebrity drama should end with everyone involved saying they hope the other people are okay, but then there wouldn’t be anything for celebs to write cryptic tell-alls about. Ah well. Maybe Hilary Duff will finally weigh in next!
