Higher Education Min. meets University of Wolverhampton Vice-Chancellor

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ayman Ashour, met the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton, Ebrahim Adia, on Thursday, 8/1/2026, to discuss expanding academic cooperation between Egypt and the United Kingdom. The meeting was held at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Ashour said that Egypt is committed to strengthening partnerships in higher education and scientific research, citing the recent expansion of the higher education system through the establishment of new universities, the opening of foreign university branches, and joint degree programs with international institutions. He said the diversified system is aimed at meeting labor market needs and building human capital in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The two sides discussed cooperation in engineering and medical education, joint undergraduate and postgraduate programs, research and industrial project funding, staff and student exchanges, and collaboration in emerging fields, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and smart systems. Adia welcomed closer cooperation with Egyptian universities, praising the development of Egypt’s higher education sector and its growing regional and international role.
