Daniel Stern, Home Alone’s Wet Bandit Marv, cited for soliciting prostitution

Daniel Stern, best known for his role in “Home Alone,” was cited last month for soliciting prostitution.

Stern, who played Marv and teamed with Joe Pescis’ Harry as the Wet Bandits, was cited at a hotel in Camarillo, California, on Dec. 10, for allegedly trying to hire an escort, according to TMZ.

The cite reports law enforcement gave Stern a ticket and was not arrested.

The New York Post reports soliciting a prostitute is a misdemeanor in California. A convictions faces up to six months in jail or a $1,000 fine.

Last month, the 68-year-old actor turned artist and farmer told PEOPLE he was commissioned by the family that purchased the Chicago house featured in the film to make a replica of himself and the spider from the iconic tarantula scene.

“I got a call from the people who own the ‘Home Alone’ house,” Stern tells PEOPLE. “And I’m a sculptor (and) they asked if if I would do a sculpture for the house. So I’m creating a sculpture of me and the spider.

“Which is gonna be kind of crazy — so it’ll be at the ‘Home Alone’ house so that spider whatever his name was — ‘Charlie’ — is being immortalized in bronze.”
