The Buffalo Bills got on the board first in their wild-card game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but they are dealing with an injury scare to one of their top players.
Quarterback Josh Allen was spotted entering the blue medical tent following the Bills’ scoring drive.
Allen headed to the medical tent after running up the middle for two yards on a third-and-6. The 2024 NFL MVP was thrown to the ground at the end of the play but was able to leave the field under his own power.
The Bills did not immediately provide an update on Allen’s status. He was seen standing on Buffalo’s sideline shortly after being checked out by the team’s medical staff.
CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson reported Allen was checked for a concussion by the independent neurologist on staff for Sunday’s game. He cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and will be eligible to return when the Bills next get the ball.
Mitchell Trubisky is the Bills’ backup quarterback and would be called upon to enter the game if Allen can’t go for any reason.
