Thousands converge on Minneapolis and across U.S. to protest ICE enforcement after shootings

From coast to coast, protesters unite in anger

In Minneapolis, thousands of people, including children, braved sub-zero temperatures and a light dusting of snow on Saturday to protest the fatal shooting of Good and demand an end to immigration enforcement activities in their city.

Hundreds of other protests were scheduled across the U.S., according to Indivisible, a social movement organization that formed to resist the Trump administration — from New York to Seattle and other states including Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Ohio, Florida.

Many people brought only their voices, or simple homemade signs; others opted for more creative displays of protest. But they’re united in their anger against what they see as a dangerous immigration crackdown by the Trump administration.

We’ve collected images from protests in cities across the U.S. in a photo gallery you can view here. This page is no longer live, but you can find more coverage at cbc.ca/news.
