Lisa Vanderpump criticizes American Airlines after 12-hour delay in Miami

Reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump took to social media to criticize American Airlines following a lengthy travel disruption that left her stranded at Miami airport for 12 hours, Parade reports.
The 65-year-old Bravo personality said she was removed from three separate aircraft due to mechanical problems. In an Instagram video posted during the delay on Sunday, Vanderpump expressed mounting frustration with the situation.
“Everybody listen up—American Airlines, unbelievable. Stuck here at Miami Airport for essentially 12 hours now,” Vanderpump said in the video. “I’ve been on three planes and taken off them with all these other people because of mechanical issues.”
She mentioned in the post that she was “about to lose her mind” after a nine-hour wait. Vanderpump said she felt compelled to address the situation publicly, telling the airline, “not a good look for you guys,” and that she felt they gave her “no other choice” but to speak out.
The post generated responses from fans and fellow celebrities.
Andy Cohen commented, “Why do you look so fresh after this delay!? Need you back in time for our reunion!!!”
One commenter offered perspective on the delays, writing, “I get it’s not good being delayed with aircraft mechanical issues, but I would rather be delayed than fly on an aircraft that’s unsafe.”
The incident occurred as American Airlines has experienced a rise in complaints over the past year involving delays, cancellations, and maintenance issues, Parade noted. Staffing shortages and aging fleets have contributed to reliability challenges across the airline industry.
It’s also not the first time Vanderpump has taken to social media to criticize American Airlines. In 2014, she posted on X — then Twitter — that the airline lost her bag after landing at Los Angeles International Airport.
“This is so frustrating!! The service is terrible!” she tweeted. The airline responded asking her to send a direct message.
