Lisa Faulkner issues warning to Billie over pursuing acting career
Lisa Faulkner has her advice to her 19-year-old daughter, Billie, who has shown interest in pursuing acting.
The 53-year-old actress adopted Billie at 17 months with her ex-husband Chris Coghill.
In a recent interview with Hello! Magazine Lisa said: “She goes travelling a lot. I don’t see her for weeks, then she’s back. She hasn’t left home quite yet, thank goodness.”
Lisa added that she was quick to caution Billie about the realities of showbiz.
“I’m like, ‘No keep away from the acting’. I think it can be a great thing, though it’s very up and down. But if she wants to do it, she can,” she said.
Faulkner has enjoyed a long career on screen with roles in Brookside, Holby City, Spooks, Murder in Suburbia, EastEnders, Murdoch Mysteries and The Girl Before.
She also starred in Netflix’s Missing You and currently appears in the stage adaptation of Single White Female.
Lisa also praised her husband John Torode, who has been supporting her work.
“He’s been running through the lines with me. He’s my husband and my best mate. We support each other through everything,” she said.
The couple is now facing uncertainty over their ITV show John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.
A source told The Sun: “Budgets are being slashed, and the show is expensive to make. They’re hoping for a nod but prepared for the worst.”
Despite the nerves the show continues on ITV and ITVX with John also working on a YouTube cooking series that has been well-received.
