Manchester City and Newcastle United have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of tonight’s match

Manchester City and Newcastle United have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg tie at St. James Park. Both teams will be eager to head to the Etihad on February 4 with an advantage so tonight’s match is crucial for both teams. Newcastle are a formidable proposition at home, and as holders of the Carabao Cup they’ll be keen to get on the front foot tonight. Pep Guardiola’s side will need to be at their best to contend with Eddie Howe’s side who will be up for the occasion.

Manchester City have a host of players unavailable due to injury. Josko Gvardiol, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Mateo Kovacic, Savinho and Oscar Bobb are all ruled out of tonight’s match due to injury. Omar Marmoush is also unavailable as Egypt’s AFCON bid continues.

Rayan Ait-Nouri could feature tonight after returning to Manchester City following Algeria’s elimination from AFCON.

Here are the starting lineups for tonight’s match.
