Seahawks LB Chazz Surratt Designated For Return To Practice

The Seahawks designated linebacker Chazz Surratt for return to practice on Tuesday ahead of their first practice of the week as they prepare for a divisional round game against the 49ers.

Surratt, who signed with the Seahawks prior to the season after he was released by the 49ers, has missed the past six games on injured reserve due to an ankle injury suffered in Seattle’s Week 12 win over the Titans.

Prior to that injury, Surratt was one of Seattle’s top special teams players, recording 11 special teams tackles, a total that, despite the time missed, still ranks second on the team behind Brady Russell’s 14.

With tight end Elijah Arroyo returning to practice last week and Surratt this week, the Seahawks have one spot remaining for a player to return to practice, with the likely candidate being running back George Holani should they decided to go that route. Receiver Tory Horton is also on injured reserve and eligible to return, but Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Horton is not expected to make it back this season. Receiver Cody White is also on injured reserve but is out for the season.
