Kristen Wiig Definitely Won Jimmy Fallon’s Hysterical New Lip Sync Game

There’s really only one person who could ace Jimmy Fallon’s new game.
How to Watch
Watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC weeknights at 11:35/10:35c and next day on Peacock.
When Kristen Wiig visited The Tonight Show on January 12, she joined Fallon for a game called “Talking For Each Other.” It’s like a lip sync battle, but totally improvised — and perfect for two Saturday Night Live alums who love silly voices.
In the game, Fallon and Wiig take turns answering questions like “What do you like to do in your downtime?” or “What are your five favorite words?” They then turn to the camera and lip-sync while the other person actually answers for them. There are accents, singing, a dramatic monologue about old-fashioned fudge, and a wild tale of jumping naked into a fountain.
It’s magnificent, and so, so funny. Watch Wiig and Fallon’s Tonight Show game above.

Kristen Wiig and Jimmy Fallon’s new game is reminiscent of SNL’s Garth and Kat
Wiig and Fallon’s lip sync game is a delightful reminder of Wiig’s only improvised performances on SNL. She and Fred Armisen frequently appeared on “Weekend Update” as Garth and Kat, a singing duo who rarely prepared an actual performance ahead of time. While anchor Seth Meyers grew increasingly frustrated, they would stare into each other’s eyes and simultaneously make up a song while desperately trying not to giggle.
It’s well worth a rewatch, as are most of Wiig’s SNL sketches. There’s a reason she starred in the first sketch of the 50th anniversary special!

Jimmy Fallon asked Kristen Wiig to guess the plot of Heated Rivalry
Fallon also asked Wiig to guess the plots of famous TV shows because, as she says, “I don’t watch anything.” She imagines The Big Bang Theory was about college students helping each other with projects, and Game of Thrones tells the story of “tree people” and “winter people” hooking up, fighting, and fearing winter.
When Fallon asked about hot new show Heated Rivalry starring recent guest Hudson Williams, her tone changed.
“I will watch this,” she said. “I know it’s hockey, and I know there’s love? From what I know, I will watch it.”
We can only hope she shares her thoughts as soon as she does (as Jimmy Fallon lip-syncs it).
