Flea announces debut solo album & tour, shares “Traffic Lights” ft Thom Yorke

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has announced his debut solo album, Honora, which will be out March 27 on Nonesuch Records. The album showcases his early interconnected loves of jazz and playing trumpet.

Honora was produced by saxophonist Josh Johnson, who plays on it along with guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Deantoni Parks. Flea sings on the record, as do his Atoms For Peace bandmate Thom Yorke and Nick Cave, and there are also contributions from Mauro Refosco (David Byrne, Atoms for Peace), Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes), and more. The album features six originals, as well as covers of songs by George Clinton and Eddie Hazel, Jimmy Webb, Frank Ocean and Shea Taylor, and Ann Ronell.

The album includes “A Plea,” which was released in December, and the new single is “Traffic Lights” that features Thom Yorke on vocals. Watch the video below.

Flea and his Honora Band will also be touring, including a few US shows in May. The NYC stop is at Webster Hall on May 12 and tickets go on sale Friday, January 23 at 10 AM local time. All dates are listed below.
