Deion Sanders is set to lose Colorado’s best player from the 2025 season with offensive tackle Jordan Seaton announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal.
Seaton is seen as a future NFL Draft pick in the 2027 class, which is expected to be among the most talented in years with the likes of Jeremiah Smith, Arch Manning, Dylan Raiola and Ryan Williams to be eligible. The 2027 draft class could even be hosted by president Donald Trump, after Washington DC plans were confirmed.
Colorado’s five-star recruit has been their left tackle for the past two seasons, protecting Shedeur Sanders’ blindside as a true freshman starter, before Deion’s son left for the draft. Seaton continued to impress in 2025 but has now explained his decision to leave the school.

In a statement on his social pages, Seaton said: “As I reflect on my time at Colorado, it’s hard to put into words what this chapter has truly meant to me.
“I never imagined this journey would come to a close in this way, but I am deeply grateful for every moment that led me here.

“To my brothers who will be on that field next season, keep grinding, keep believing, and keep rolling. And to the fans of Colorado, thank you for welcoming me with open arms and supporting me every step of the way. This chapter may be closing, but the impact of this experience and the people who helped shape it will stay with me for life.”
It’s rare to see such a highly-rated player become available in the transfer portal, with almost every major team in the NCAA likely to be vying for his signature.
Colorado won just three games in 2025, losing both Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and Deion’s son, Shedeur, to the NFL Draft.

Seaton likely knew he would have interest from the nation’s biggest schools, including Arch Manning’s Texas.
He is expected to play just one more season before being allowed to leave for the NFL, where he is seen as a sure-fire first-round draft pick.
He thanked Deion Sanders in his farewell message. Sanders has not publicly commented about Seaton’s decision as of Jan. 13.
Colorado will now look to find a replacement for their superstar left tackle leaving, with the transfer portal closing in just two days on January 16.
