A brand-new season of Love Island: All-Stars was slated to premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 14, on Peacock. However, the series revealed a few days before the premiere that episodes would not be dropping as scheduled.

All Stars is filmed on the 25-acre Ludus Magnus estate in Franschhoek, South Africa, nestled between a picturesque mountain range and a wine valley. Unfortunately, devastating wildfires have broken out in the region over the past week, forcing thousands to evacuate their homes and causing extensive damage to vineyards.

Why Was Love Island: All Stars Season 3 Delayed?

On Jan. 10, the official Love Island Instagram account released a statement announcing that filming for the third season had been postponed due to ongoing wildfires in Franschhoek, South Africa, which prevented production from moving forward.

“Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed,” the post read. “Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed.”

Two days later, Love Island shared an update on its Instagram Story stating that the show remained delayed and that no new launch date had been set.

“Just a reminder that the Love Island launch show has been delayed due to wildfires near the Villa in South Africa,” the story read. “Everyone is safe though and we’re working on bringing you an iconic series, so keep an eye on our socials and we’ll let you know the new launch date as soon as we can.”

On Jan. 11, authorities in South Africa said that “progress had been made” in containing one of the two major fires in the Western Cape region, while fighting the other blaze remained “challenging,” according to The Independent.

When Is The New Love Island: All-Stars Season 3 Release Date?

Love Island: All Stars Season 3 officially returns on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 9 p.m. on ITV2 and ITVX.

The series announced the exciting news on Wednesday, Jan. 14, on Instagram alongside a video of host Maya Jama in hair rollers. “Maya’s got her rollers in, so that only means one thing: All Stars is back on, baby! Watch the launch at 9pm on Thursday 💕,” the post read.

When Will Love Island: All-Stars Season 3 Be Released On Peacock?

New episodes of Love Island: All-Stars are released in the U.S. on Peacock two days after their U.K. premiere. With the new release date, the U.S. premiere will likely be on Saturday, Jan. 17. (We’re still waiting for confirmation from Peacock.)

Love Island: All Stars is hosted by Maya Jama and features former U.K. Islanders from past seasons, incorporating many of the same elements as the original series, including coupling and recoupling, challenges and games, bombshell arrivals and public voting. In the end, fans will decide which couple wins the £50,000 grand prize.

The returning cast includes 12 fan-favorite contestants from past seasons, including Leanne Amaning, Jack Keating, and Millie Court, who won Series 7 with Liam Reardon. The couple split for the final time in September after briefly rekindling their romance following an initial breakup in July 2022.
