Game Preview: San Antonio Spurs vs Milwaukee Bucks

It really hasn’t been the sort of season the Milwaukee Bucks were hoping for. With trade rumours circulating seemingly weekly about the status of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee was hoping for a best-case scenario this season following a tumultuous summer. Desperate to shake things up but not having many options, they managed to add Myles Turner in the offseason and have relied on internal growth from players like 4th year guard Ryan Rollins. Turner has been disappointing though, and an injury to Antetokounmpo kept him out for much of December. Milwaukee went into free fall with that injury, culminating in where they are now: Booed off their home court following a 33-point loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves with Antetokounmpo in the line-up.
Meanwhile, things have been a bit rocky for the Spurs to kick off the New Year, with just a 3-4 record in the month of January. The offense has been hit or miss, especially from beyond the 3-point line, often leading to scoring droughts that take them out of games. A struggling Milwaukee team that’s clearly in disarray in front of the home crowd could be the jump start this team needs, but the struggling Bucks for the meantime still boast the services of Antetokounmpo.
