Golden Knights’ Adin Hill activated from IR, will return against Leafs

The Vegas Golden Knights are getting a boost in the crease.

The team activated goaltender Adin Hill from injured reserve on Thursday, meaning he will return in time for the team’s Thursday night matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Adin Hill has been removed from IR, indicating he’ll play tonight.

Carter Hart and Brandon Saad have been placed on IR.

The Golden Knights also placed goaltender Carter Hart and forward Brandon Saad on IR, as well as recalled forward Tanner Laczynski from their AHL affiliate, the Henderson Silver Knights.

Hill has been out of the lineup since Oct. 20 when he suffered a lower-body injury against the Carolina Hurricanes. He required help from teammates and trainers to get off the ice.

In five appearances this season, Hill is 1-0-2 with an .888 save percentage (SV%). Now in his ninth NHL season, Hill, a native of Comox, B.C., is 97-64-15 with a .909 SV% with the Golden Knights, San Jose Sharks and Arizona Coyotes.

Hill has played in 30 NHL postseason games, posting a 17-12 record with a .917 SV%. He was the starting goalie during the Golden Knights’ 2023 Stanley Cup run, going 11-4 with a .932 SV% and two shutouts.

As for Hart, he was injured last week when Vegas faced the Columbus Blue Jackets. He left the game after just 8:24 of ice time. He’s posted a 5-3-3 record with an .871 SV% in 12 games with the Golden Knights.

As for Saad, he has also been out since playing against the Blue Jackets last week. He has two goals and five assists for seven points in 39 game this season.

The Golden Knights go into Thursday night with a 22-11-12 record and 56 points, which puts them at the top of the Pacific Division.
