Man turns himself in on warrant for neighbor’s death

DANBURY, CT (WFSB) – A bullet went through a wall and killed a neighbor last week in Danbury, police said.

David Grullon Jr. turned himself in to the Danbury Police Department on Thursday, officers reported.

As part of the investigation into the shooting, Danbury police said they obtained an arrest warrant for Grullon, who they said also went by the name “Davicito.”

The shooting happened just before 8:40 p.m. on Jan. 7 at a home on Lake Avenue.

According to police, a gun was fired by someone inside of a townhouse. A single round went through a wall and hit the neighbor, who was inside his own home at the time.

The victim, identified as 37-year-old Victor Quispe of Danbury, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“The person believed to be responsible left the scene prior to officers arrival, and detectives are continuing efforts to locate the individual,” Danbury police said in their report.

They called it an isolated incident. They did not believe there was a threat to the public.

Grullon was charged with second-degree manslaughter, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, illegal discharge of a firearm, second-degree breach of peace, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

His bond was set at $1 million.
