A reunion week for Toronto sports fans won’t continue Friday.

The 2019 Finals MVP had previously been listed as questionable with a sprain suffered Jan. 7 against the New York Knicks.

It will mark Leonard’s first missed game since Nov. 22.

Leonard has been enjoying one of his best seasons since his 2018-19 run with the Raptors, averaging 28.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game on 49.7-per-cent shooting from the field.

Meanwhile, the Clippers have won 11 of their past 13 games to move back into the playoff race in the Western Conference.

Raptors fans welcomed back another 2019 champion in Kyle Lowry when the Philadelphia 76ers visited on Sunday and Monday, while some Toronto Maple Leafs fans travelled to see Vegas Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner’s first game against his former team on Thursday.

On the other bench, the Raptors will also be short-handed as sharp-shooter Jamison Battle (ankle) was ruled out, joining Jakob Poeltl (back), RJ Barrett (ankle) and Ja’Kobe Walter (hip) on the sidelines.

Point guard Immanuel Quickley, who was listed as doubtful, has also been ruled out, and will miss his second consecutive game with back spasms.

In brighter news for the Raptors, bench big Sandro Mamukelashvili (illness) and veteran guard Garrett Temple (back spasms) are both available Friday.
