Birmingham City are hoping to wrap up the signing of Colombian midfielder Jhon Solis but the chances of that happening in time for him to feature against Swansea City appear slim.
Solis has been identified to strengthen Blues’ midfield options and talks with La Liga side Girona have progressed this week.
Blues are confident of getting the deal over the line but Solis will have to be granted a visa before everything can be formalised.
Blues are therefore expected to travel to Swansea with a similar squad to the one that defeated Cambridge United in the FA Cup.
Danish striker August Priske has been linked with a move to Blues but BirminghamLive understands that it hasn’t developed to anything more than discussions for now.
Priske is admired by Blues and they have expressed an interest to Swedish side Djurgårdens IF but the 21-year-old striker is understood to have a multitude of suitors.
Priske top scored in the Allsvenskan last season with 18 goals in 27 matches and is also on the radar clubs around Europe.
The profile of Priske – a 6ft 4in striker with mobility – is something that Blues are keen to acquire this month.
Elsewhere, out-of-favour Blues striker Lyndon Dykes is expected to join Championship rivals Charlton Athletic.
Dykes has played 21 league games for Blues this season, scoring twice, and is set to follow Keshi Anderson out of St Andrew’s.
